Just want to say a big thanks to John, I didn't think I would ever get on with my bike and was at my wits end, new tyres tried setting up the suspension all without much joy the handling was terrible!! Then I thought one last chance and I rang John on the slight chance it may make some difference, how naive was I.

Hi John, First of all thank you very much for your prompt reply. I have incorporated your recommended settings straight away. Honestly speaking, you should have seen the grin on my face when I rode to work this morning :)
I have not anticipated that it would be that big of a difference after just one ride! The bike is now planted.
Although I have read a number of technical books regarding motorcycle suspension my conclusion is that is definitely more of an art than a science.

John I came to you with my Black CBR Fireblade and I'm not really not sure what to put but oh my god the bike is like a different bike into the corners, I’ll be honest after traveling back to Sheffield I came off at junc 30 M1 and I did about 20 laps of the roundabout and I couldn't believe how it went around after you had set it up, and I’ve been on it a couple of times since and all I can say is WOW cheers, regards Andy

Hi John, What a turnaround! The bike now handles as I’d expect it to, it no longer loses its composure on mid corner bumps and I’m not sat on a pogo stick on bumpy roads. I have done 220 miles around the lakes and York moors today and didn’t feel that the bike was overwhelmed once and we were making some good progress early morning when the roads were quiet.
That must be the best money I’ve ever spent on a motorcycle! Once again many thanks for sorting out what was a pig of a bike to ride and making it "sing" once again. Regards Dan

Honda CBR600F 2011
In April 2011 I bought a CBR600F, compared to my previous bike it felt light and quick to change direction on the road, but after 12 months I started to realise all was not well. Roundabouts, instead of holding the line I was constantly being pulled wide, corners where the same, the bike just didn’t want to hold the line and to get round corners I was always having to drop my speed for safety reasons, under hard acceleration the bike would squat and as for the state of UK roads the bumps where a nightmare everything just got out of shape. So it was decided the suspension needed setting up, after looking at You Tube videos and reading the wealth of information on the internet about setting up your own suspension I decided time for an expert, so I contacted John and asked for help. Due to the weather this summer (2012) I could just not get to John so I asked him to come to me, and he did, so on a very wet Friday John spent about an hour or so in my garage asking me to get on and off the bike while he measured and altered settings, the result, well on Sunday during a break in the rain I took the bike out for a test, it’s like a different bike, firstly it feels firmer when I’m sitting on it, bumps no longer get the bike out of shape it just takes them in its stride, and best of all, it holds the line and changes direction much quicker, roundabouts and my favourite twisty roads are all taken with ease, even the increased cost of John coming to me it is worth it, in fact John you really don’t charge enough for what you do! Hi John, Just got finished with track day at Mallory park, the suspension was absolutely fantastic John. It was so smooth, predictable turned in held the line and exited without any issues. It’s amazing to go round Gerrards, The lake S's and the Hairpin with your knee planted into the tarmac and the Blade was so stable and not 1 sign of a headshake. All in all a fantastic day. The suspension was spot on and required no adjustments. You really transformed the whole bike with your adjustments and I felt so confident riding it fast.

Hi John Thank you very much for setting up my bike. Has to be the best money I have spent by far. After 35000 road miles and three different sets of tyres not realising what the problem with handling was. The back no longer drifts out in the bends, braking is so much better doesn't feel harsh as if it's going to chuck me and I wasn't thrown out of the seat over bumps. We left Squires in what must be the wettest day this year and rode over to Seaways then home to Lincolnshire The difference was awesome such a smooth enjoyable ride, the bike felt planted and level, I had so much more confidence, even in the wet was keeping a nice pace. Thanks for the great job you did to my 2009 HRC blade, and telling me what was wrong with the settings before asking me if I had any problems, you were spot on about the bikes rebound and how it being too hard and throwing me off the seat when I hit a bump, my gooleys now feel much better. I got mine set up the same time as Jacko71 and as soon as I rode it out of his garage I could feel the difference. He stiffened the front up from 5 turns in to 10 (max is 18 in), took the back up a notch and fiddled with the compression/rebound. I cant believe how much better it feels now, I'd had the front go on me a few times for no reason but if feels firmly planted now and does exactly what I want it to. Went over last night and I have to agree with you. The bike feels much more stable into the corners. Doesn't lunge at the front and the rear doesn't bog down on the way out now. Went to see the guy last week and let him have a look at the bikes, he looked at mine and took some measurements we lifted the bike at the front measured some more then the back then me on it then off it after about half an hour he said "well yours isn’t far out from spot on but ill give some tweeks see how we go" 10 mins later I took it for a ride, and to say it wasn’t far out what a difference he made within 200 yards I could tell a difference, so I took it on some different roads (no twistys around Morley) really, but bloody hell the front seems to be so much more planted and the feel is unbelievable, it brakes better and handles better, I’ve heard people say it feels like a new bike and I didn’t believe it could but it bloody does, best money I’ve ever spent well worth a trip......Jacko71

Hi there John, Was out at the weekend and did out 240 miles, very happy with what you have done to the Fireblade suspension, the bike is a lot more stable in a straight line at speed and cornering has also improved as it hold its line better going in and coming out of the corner too, its a far better improvement to how it was, can not wait the get it round the TT course now. My first impressions when I took it for a short ride to test it were very good, they were even better on the ride home and when I went to east coast on Friday they were better still. Hi John, You set up my Fireblade 954 on Sat aft, You said I would be able to brake later into corners and you were true to your word. The bike is so much better under braking and all round handling. I noticed things before that was due to the suspension i.e., it was diving at the front end when I was braking and bouncing on bumps when throttling off into corners. You have made my bike so much better and my 3 mates whose bikes you set up all say the same. Thanks John it was a pleasure to meet you and I will be recommending you to all the bikers I know. P.S I will see you over the winter as we discussed that you would change my fork oil.

Hi John, the front feels more direct now, with a lot less of the "flex" or weave I was feeling as I powered out of corners, that I thought was from the back end. I have started to throw it into corners now rather than just ride around like I would over winter, so I have much more confidence in the front end.
